The Enchanted Moon Craft is an established, evolving spiritual tradition that has been growing organically since 2009. Rooted in lived practice, thoughtful scholarship, and community-based training, it exists to support witches and spiritual seekers in becoming competent ritual practitioners, ethical magickal workers, and confident leaders within the wider Pagan landscape.
The tradition began in March 2009 with the formal founding of a coven known as The Night Mares. At the time, its members were witches from a variety of paths who had already been meeting informally to celebrate the Sabbats and work magick together at the full moons. What united them was not adherence to a single doctrine, but a shared commitment to meaningful practice, mutual respect, and experiential learning.
Leadership emerged naturally. Wort Moon, drawing on prior experience within a traditional Wiccan coven and several years of organising and facilitating a Pagan moot, stepped into the role of coven leader. From the outset, emphasis was placed on well-constructed ritual, clear ethical frameworks, and a depth of understanding behind every practice.
The coven flourished. As members grew in confidence and skill, some went on to form their own covens, and in this way the Enchanted Moon Craft line began to take shape — not as a fixed system imposed from above, but as a tradition shaped through experience, reflection, and shared learning.
As the community expanded, so too did the need for a reliable, progressive training structure. Within the first year of the coven’s formation, Wort began developing what would later become the Path training system — a clear, sequential framework designed to support Dedicants, Initiates, and Priestly practitioners at each stage of their development.
These Paths evolved alongside the tradition itself. Each was shaped by real-world teaching, feedback from students, and the lived realities of coven work. Over time, the system matured into a robust model that balances structure with autonomy — offering firm foundations without imposing dogma.
At its heart, the Enchanted Moon Craft is a training priesthood. Its purpose has always been to guide practitioners toward becoming:
Skilled ritual creators and facilitators
Ethical and responsible magickal workers
Thoughtful leaders capable of holding sacred space
While eclectic in nature, the tradition places strong emphasis on understanding why practices exist, where they come from, and how they function — ensuring depth of knowledge rather than surface-level imitation.
For many years, training was offered primarily within a coven setting. However, when the COVID pandemic disrupted in-person gatherings, it became clear that a new approach was needed to ensure continuity of teaching.
At the same time, demand for structured, high-quality training was increasing — far beyond what could realistically be met through coven-based work alone. Many sincere seekers were unable to access local groups, while others preferred a solitary path supported by mentorship rather than group membership.
These realities led to the creation of Enchanted Moon Academy, officially launched in Autumn 2022.
The Academy exists to make the same depth of training available to a wider audience — without compromising standards, integrity, or ethics. It offers well-researched, carefully designed courses grounded in decades of study and practice, responding to a growing concern about the quality and authenticity of online spiritual education.
The Academy is not separate from the tradition. It is an extension of the Enchanted Moon Craft line— a way of sharing its teachings responsibly, accessibly, and affordably with those who feel called to learn.
Since 2009, the Enchanted Moon tradition has supported the education and development of hundreds of individuals, including coven members, dedicants, initiates, course students, and participants in workshops and open rituals.
The tradition continues to thrive because it is not static. It listens, adapts, and evolves in response to the needs of its community and the realities of modern spiritual life. Feedback is actively welcomed, teaching materials are continually refined, and profits generated through the Academy are reinvested into community projects and further educational development.
At every level, the same values apply:
Quality over quantity
Responsibility over recognition
Experience over imitation
Autonomy supported by accountability
This is why the Enchanted Moon tradition has endured where many groups fade — and why those who study within it often return again and again to deepen their learning.
The Enchanted Moon tradition is not a shortcut, a trend, or a commercial invention. It is a living tradition shaped by time, practice, and people — one that continues to grow because it is grounded in integrity, experience, and care.
Whether you encounter it through coven work, workshops, classes or through the Enchanted Moon Academy, you are stepping into a lineage that values knowledge, discernment, and genuine spiritual development.
