Course details:
The Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of 8 seasonal festivals, observed by many modern Pagans, consisting of the year's chief solar events and the midpoints between them. This course explore the origins and development of the Wheel and the history, traditions, names, dates and ritual themes related to each festival. This course acts as a great base for starting a deeper exploration of each spoke of the Wheel.
By the end of this course, students will:
know about the origins of the Wheel of the Year and how this has developed over time.
understand why people choose to celebrate the festivals under different names and on different dates.
have learnt about the history, meaning and traditions associated with each festival.
discover how the Wheel, as a whole, offers a system of understanding the nature of life and natural occurrences.
be able to apply what they have learnt to their own practices.
